My Last 'Teen'

I know this late but i didn't have much time lately due to all the examinations and deadlines. Even though, i had plenty of good birthdays, this year really trumped all the rest of the birthdays. Its all thanks to my dearest friends and boyfriend that this year i really felt so blessed. To the extent that i felt that i didn't deserve such treatment from them. 

My Orientation Group 

At first it started off with me meeting Loy and Shaun for lunch before lecture. However, when i tried to call them, both of them did not pick up the phone. In the end, i had to eat lunch alone which made me quite angsty. Then i got a call from Rachel asking me to come down from the upper deck and once i stepped out of the door, a big group of people starting singing happy birthday at the top of their lungs. i was so shocked that i missed a step and almost tripped. Though i was quite embarrassed, it was really so sweet. In addition to the nicest cake, they gave me a balloon and a sunflower. It was so sweet and being able to celebrate with such awesome friends made it all the more special to me. 

Next is the sweetest orientation group leader ever. Since he was a double degree student, it doesn't come as much of a surprise that i haven;t seen him ever since after camp. One day before my birthday i saw him 

CW: oh it's your birthday, omg happy birthday! okay okay i will give you something tomorrow

Me: Oh please, i would be surprised if you wish me happy birthday.Let alone give me a gift 

CW: okay you see tmrw!

The next day, he messaged me instructions like " when you exit the upper deck, turned to the right..." which i followed. And what did i find? A cute doggy that had a red ribbon as a leash that said property of ME and it was taped to the wall. I was really so shocked and was standing saying seriously? he really impressed me and Ya min by how thoughtful and creative he was. He is indeed an awesome orientation group leader. thank you!!!! 

BBG and Jerlyn 

We planned to have a dinner in Stranger's Reunion where they literally had the best waffles ever. It was like any other dinner where we gossiped and caught up and basically had a great time. i thought that it was just an average dinner with my sweet babe Jerlyn buying me dinner. 

However at midnight, Gloria and Jerlyn came to the house to surprise me with a cake and a candle to mimic a birthday candle cause i think they had no candle. I was really touched that tried to come find me throughout the night and to not leave me alone when it reached my birthday. Love you guys so much!!!!!

Family 

Best friends are family that you choose for yourself. That is truly applicable to this special group of people. Who always continuously make an effort to make me feel happy and be there for me. Though i know that these few days i haven't been a good friend, being busy with examinations and studying. But being the good friends that they are, they always understand where i am at and don't blame me for it in the end. No matter how many shit I've been through, i know that we will always be friends or better yet Family. :)

Okay here is the story of how they made my day, at first it was supposed to be ling bringing me out. He kept rushing me and i felt so annoyed because i was wondering why are you rushing me on today out of all days. However, after everything i figured out why. While we were at the ice skating rink, the 4 of them popped up out of nowhere. i was so surprised but i should have known that they would do something like this. Special thanks to Gloria who swore that she would never ice skate but she did it for me. Glad that she always doing things she doesn't like for me. love you BBG.

After skating, rich fetched us to eat dinner at Shabu Shabu at Katong I12. then after dinner, Jinmy and Richard went to take a smoke as usual. Than they came up with Gooby cupcakes ( that whoever knows me will know that it is absolutely the cutest and best cupcakes ever)

They then gave me the most thoughtful gift ever, a SKATEBOARD. Which i talked about getting before school start and they remembered. they also gave me bandages and plasters in case i would fall that they of course know i will. 

Eben and Belle and Tian and the clique 

They came to my house to surprise me. Then after they went to eat four fingers. After that, we went to shop for bolsters. even though it was such a simple gesture, i was really touched. after seven years of friendship, they still make the effort to surprise me and make my birthday special. Love this guys to bits.Because we do not need to meet at all or meet every few months, but we still know that we would still be here to celebrate or to mourn with each other. Hope that after 50 years later we are still hanging out with each other. 

 

Last but not least, my awesome boyfriend LING

First he came to find me at Nex with a cake and balloon in hand. Complaining about how he had to carry a little mermaid balloon throughout Nex. It was super funny though and it was so sweet because i know that he isn't the kind of person that does this kind of stuff. Pretty sure that he didn't even know where to buy the balloon let alone buy all this stuff. When we went back home, he gave me the sweetest homemade card and a puzzle that when u piece it together was pictures of us. it was really so sentimental and meant more to me as compared to simply buying a gift. It was really pretty too considering he was a guy with no artistic talent whatsoever. He told me that he bought a few pieces of each paper to make sure that if he screwed up, he would have extras. HOW SWEET HE IS? when a guy who isn't normally good at this kind of stuff puts in this amount of effort so that it turns out well, it shows that he is indeed a keeper:)

After that we went to ice skating with the clique. When everything was over, we went back to home to rest before we had a midnight movie. We then went to Cinnie to watch a Platinum movie that was bought by Ling sister who was sweet enough to give it to us as a gift. It was seriously damn luxurious, all the seats were in these sofa chairs and we had our own blankets and pillows. There was also waitresses coming to serve us at our seat. the screen was super clear and the chair was super comfortable. It was a good experience but i wonder who would spend such money for a over when there isn't no special occasion. 

Anyway thank you b for the best birthdays ever. For coordinating with all my friends to make sure that their surprises was all a success. For sacrificing your free time when you were out from army to do my card and to get my presents. Most of all thank you for trying to make this day special and for making me happy!

Strength training

Since next next week is Eben's field camp, the army gave him an extra day out in civilisation. So while other recruits were in Tekong, Eben and I went to Pasir Ris to cycle. This was after many weeks of saying that we wanted to cycle but being too lazy to go. Seemed like the weather was not in  favour of us cycling as well since dark clouds was approaching. Thank goodness that we persisted in cycling because despite the dark clouds, it didn't rain until after we finished cycling. Eben and I was so tired after cycling for one hour that my legs were wobbly. How unfit i have become after not exercising for months.
After that we went to watch EPIC (which was my second time watching) but it was so worth it because it was a great movie and the animation was so lifelike. Fav character of the show was the cute three legged dog that only has one eye, it was beyond cute.

To celebrate Eben's birthday, we went for a simple dinner at Aston's. It was really fortunate that Eben's birthday is after his 17 days confinement so he could celebrate it with us. Anyway even though it was just dinner but it was nice catching up with him.After that we went to buy a cake from Starbucks ( cause Ben's and Jerry at Cathay closed down so we couldn't buy an ice cream cake). We didn't have any candles so Andreas decided to use his phone flashlight as a "candle" that he off-ed when Eben blew, So cute right:). Our clique is really good at being impromptu and " all talk no action" attitude.

Anyway, thank you Eben for always being there for me.Even though we have been through so much shit and misunderstandings throughout for the 6 years that we have been friends, you have never turn your back to me. Here to many more birthday celebrations. Hope you had a great time cause you deserve it!:)

Mom & Dad

Happy mother's day. To celebrate my awesome mother, we went to Buono for dinner. My brother's girlfriend also came along. Since i didn't get my mom anything, my brother and I decided to buy dinner.
Anyway, it wasn't nearly enough to thank my mom for everything that she did for me for the past 19 years. She is, in my opinion, the best mother in the world. Always caring for me and sacrificing things just so she can make ma happy. I love you mom :)

Happy birthday Daddy. Its quite a coincidence that my father's birthday is two days after Mother's Day. However, this way i would be able to let both my parents know just how much they mean to me. My dad has been such a big part of my life. He always spoils me, making me feel like a princess. He is really the most generous man i have ever know and doesn't ask for anything in return. I love you so much and I'm so thankful to have you as my dad.

My best guy friends have finally enlisted. Sadly all of them enlisted altogether so i lost all my texting buddies for two weeks. Hate army for taking them away for two years. But though i won't get to text or see them as often as i did last time, i know army will be an essential part of their lives and turn them into men:) AH BOYS TO MEN!!!

Eben
On the day he enlisted i went to visit him at his house. It was my last time meeting him and seeing him with his multi-colored  hair. Turns out he is in Cougar which is a really tough company but hopefully his pre-army training will help him cope with it.Sadly Eben only brought one i phone so he can't talk to me every night or his battery would die.

Ronald
Ronald enlisted before Eben at about 9am. So we did not have enough time to go to tekong if i wanted to see both of them off. So we went for breakfast at 6am at McDonald then his parents fetched me to Eben's house. Ronald is in Bronco, which is apparently a super slack company. So at least he can text me during the day:)

Ling

Finally Ling. He enlisted one day after Ronald and Eben so at least i had one more day with him. We shaved his head together because if he went in to shave, it'll be uglier. ( Eben and Ronald didnt' cause they loved their hair too much). He is in NIN-JIA company, damn hectic with super little admin time. Sadly.
